Greetings.

As a woman of faith, I am on a journey to plumb the depths of the Word of God and our Christian beliefs. I want to explore how to best live the life worthy of our calling (Ephesians 4:1).

Follow my ponderings as I dig deep in my examination of this life of faith. You might notice that I’m not inclined to pull any punches as I question our religious preconceptions, or the value and place of church and it’s teachings within that life. My hope is that together we would all come to know God intimately, and thus become empowered as we come to know why we believe what we believe.

If this is your first visit, you can start from the beginning post here if you like.

  • Who’s Thinking For You?

The process of our growth and development as a born again believer echoes that of our natural lives. We begin as spiritual infants, regardless of our chronological age. We are innocent and open, like the blank pages of an unwritten book. Everything we see and hear from that point –  about God, church, faith and… Continue reading

  • Let’s Just Pause for a Moment

So let’s just pause for a moment whilst I try to help you understand a little better where I’m coming from. I threw myself… Continue reading

  • Bible Translations

How blessed we are to have the written Word of God available to us! We have an abundance of translations available in multiple formats in many, many languages. And yet so many people seem to get quite pernickety about which translation is the right one, or the official or authorised one. If it contains the… Continue reading

  • Look Beyond

I sat in a bible study group once and listened to what was a pretty bland and limited exchange until someone mentioned, in passing, the topic of gender identity. Suddenly, it was as though a massive volt of energy surged through the room; and suddenly, everyone had something to say, and couldn’t wait to say… Continue reading

  • An Educated Mind

“It is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it.” I’d originally heard this quote as being attributed to Aristotle, but regardless of whether it’s a direct quote or not, the sentiment it embodies is what is important. I believe that if we have any intellect or intelligence, we ought… Continue reading

  • Frank & Direct

I have often been told that I am frank or direct, and that I do not pull punches. Mostly this is just after I have said something that seemed plainly obvious to me, but apparently was not something others necessarily appreciated hearing or were willing to say. That may be because once it’s been said,… Continue reading
